Commissioners in Shelby County, Tennessee are questioning the legal ramifications of using Twitter or Facebook when at public meetings. According to an article by Daniel Connolly with the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Commissioner Mike Carpenter, uses his social networking servcies to provide a running commentary on the meetings. However, he has now sent a letter to his fellow Commissioners informing them that he has blocked them from receiving his messages because of his concern that the use of these services could be a violation of the state's open-meeting law.
