OverviewWhen using a BlackBerry smartphone with a SureType keyboard, there is capability to switch between the SureType® technology or Multitap input methods.

To change the option on a per use basis:

1. Go to the messages folder on the Blackberry smartphone.
2. Click the menu key and select Compose email.
3. On the body of the email message select "enable SureType/enable Multitap".

To change the option for the entire BlackBerry smartphone system:

To enable Multitap, complete the following steps:
1. From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, select Options > Language.
2. Scroll to the Input Method field, open the menu, and then select Change Option.
3. Select <Language> (<Country>, Multitap).
4. Open the menu, and then select Save.

To enable SureType, complete the following steps:
1. From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, select Options > Language.
2. Scroll to the Input Method field, open the menu, and then select Change Option.
3. Select <Language> (<Country>).
4. Open the menu, and then select Save.

Additional Information
To change input methods in any text field, hold the asterisk key for a few seconds, and then select the input method from the menu.
