Hoping someone can help me. I downloaded a version of os 5.0 today, followed all the directions, including deleting the vendor thingy, says installed successfully but when I go to upload it, its not there and shows no updates for my software. What am I doing wrong? Whereis it?

What device do you have and was it a leaked or an offical release?

I have a Bold 9000 and it was an offical release but not from AT&T

This is rather complicated but what I had to do once. I had to go to where previous versions had been stored and either delete or move them where device manager didn't recognize them. I will have to look on my pc to find the exact location and post it. You might also try rebooting your pc if you haven't and maybe reboot your BB.

I rebooted the computer, but that didn't do anything. I should probably leave well enough alone. The 4.6 is working fine. I was trying to see what I was missing, since everyone else seems to be running 5.0. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. This is a great forum and I am learning alot from you ladies. I even joined a theme club! My bb has never looked so good!

Here is where I went to find the loader files: Local Disk (c), Program Files (x86), Common files, Research In Motion, Shared, Loader Files. Then you should see all the versions you have downloaded. I deleted all except the one I wanted to install on my device. Hope this helps. I'm so glad you found BlackBerryLadies. Okay did that, found them and deleted them all except the new one. Now when I connect the bb and get ready to load it, it doesn't show up in the list of applications. Actually no os shows up in the box. I am afraid to continue to the next step. Shouldn't I see the os listed where all my applications are listed. I am such a newbie! In your opinion is os 5.0 worth upgrading or should I just keep my 4.6?
